GENERAL ELECTIONS 2024:ANDHRA PRADESH, TELANGANA,HIMACHAL PRADESH, MADHYA PRADESH, MIZORAM AND ASSAM
About the Project:
For the 2024 General Elections in Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, and Assam, Brihaspathi Technologies Pvt. Ltd. implemented innovatory surveillance solutions. Our focus was on fortifying the integrity and transparency of the electoral process through monitoring systems.
CCTV CAMERAS PLACEMENT FOR WEB CASTING
In a monumental effort to uphold the integrity of the electoral process, a staggering 87,000 trailblazing CCTV cameras were deployed across Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, and Mizoram during the 2024 General Elections.
This extensive network of high-definitioncameras, integrated with advanced video analytics software, provided unparalleled real-time surveillance, for a transparent and secure voting environment.
Each camera was meticulously placed to capture every critical moment, leaving no room for ambiguity and remarkably confirming the over all accountability of the elections.
INSTALLATION OF CAMERAS FOR FLYING SURVEILLANCE TEAM (FST)
Over 200 high-definition cameras were installed on the tops of each escort vehicles assigned to the Flying Squad team in Andhra Pradesh to follow and monitor the EVM vehicles.
These strategically placed cameras allowed for real-time monitoring of any deviations of EVM vehicles from designated routes, providing an extra layer of surveillance. This is because any unauthorized changes in route were immediately detected and addressed.
GPS TRACKING DEVICES INTEGRATION:
To further fortify the security and efficiency of the election process, an avant-garde deployment of around 27,000 GPS tracking devices was executed across Madhya Pradesh and Assam.
These sophisticated tracking systems offered precise, real-time location data, establishing seamless logistics and monitoring of election-related activities. The integration of these devices enabled meticulous tracking of personnel and sensitive materials, providing a robust layer of security and operational efficiency that set a new standard for electoral management.
CHALLENGES:
In the forested regions of Andhra Pradesh, including Parvathipuram Manyam, Araku, and Eluru districts, as well as certain areas of Telangana, signal reception posed a notable challenge.
Long-standing power cuts in several areas of Adilabad district (Telangana) and all districts in Andhra Pradesh severely impacted the functionality of check post cameras.
In Himachal Pradesh, the project execution faced significant challenges due to the rugged, hilly terrain and frequent snowfall.
In Assam, the election period coincided with severe flooding, which complicated communication and transportation. Also, experienced power outages and the intermittent power supply disrupted the functioning of the CCTV systems.
THE APPROACH:
To tackle the signal issues in specific geolocations, we engaged in direct discussions with Jio officials. By collaborating closely with them, we successfully negotiated an increase in bandwidth for stable and reliable connectivity for our CCTV systems. This strategic move enabled us to provide live feeds directly to the respective CEO offices (control rooms), allowing officials to monitor the live streaming or live webcasting process in real-time.
In response to the persistent power cuts affecting the check post cameras, we deployed offline recording cameras in the impacted areas equipped with high-capacity memory cards. These cameras checked continuous surveillance by locally storing footage, which could later be transferred and reviewed
For the challenging terrain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, our team employed specialized mountaineering equipment and techniques to safely navigate the steep hills. We also utilized portable, ruggedized equipment designed to withstand extreme weather conditions.
To address the persistent power issues in both Himachal Pradesh and Assam, we introduced power bank solutions. These high-capacity power banks provided reliable backup power for our CCTV cameras
RESULTS:
The innovative solutions and proactive measures implemented by Brihaspathi Technologies Pvt. Ltd. during the Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Mizoram and Assam General Elections 2024 led to a transparent electoral process.
By overcoming challenges, we build up uninterrupted surveillance. This not only boost the fairness and accountability of the elections but also significantly boosted public confidence in the integrity of the electoral process, setting a new benchmark for future elections.
